Photography

Rhythm and structure are essential elements in her photographs, they determine the ‘time’-factor, like rhythm can be a conception of arriving and departing. In this way the notion of timelessness that characterizes nature is driven back to be superseded for a character of its own.

Furthermore photography is a means to ascertain the quality of the light. As far as that is concerned one can find a direct relation between her photographs and some of her acrylic paintings. Even now she always has the camera with her. Taking photographs is just like painting: by looking through the viewfinder she sees the format and the con- tents of the paintings she has in mind. Moreover the photograph gives her a sort of abstract information which she can also use in painting. This doesn’t render her paintings completely abstract, because the contents will always be derived from the form the way she perceives it.
